To recount the history of Breier Audio Video, is to chronicle the advent of home entertainment from those halcyon days after World War II through its development over the following 60 years. In the very beginning, Ed Breier sold and installed intercoms and PA systems. But soon he discovered small companies producing high-end components for the newly named "High Fidelity" enthusiast ...... companies such as Scott, Fisher, McIntosh and Altec-Lancing.

In 1951 the Breier family had opened what was defined as a " High Fidelity Salon " on Fifth Avenue in San Diego, CA. The concept was so advanced that in the first few days the only activity consisted of a few phone calls to find out exactly what " High Fidelity " was. Despite this precarious beginning, the store soon became a huge success! Within a year and a half, Breier outgrew its first location. The key was knowledge, service, independent testing of products and backing what we sold.
Today, as in the beginning, Breier Audio Video is still a family business. Ed's son Mark is at the helm, offering many of the original names his father introduced to San Diego: McIntosh, Marantz and Klipsch. And to think, it all started with " High Fidelity " and evolved into Stereo, Surround Sound, Home-theater and now Home Cinema.
